Definition:
Food poising is a common occurrence in this country with well over 2 million
cases being reported each year. This condition is caused by many
factors. Food not being properly prepared likes eggs not cooked
enough or foods not being refrigerated, or food handlers not practicing
proper sanitary habits. In all cases bacteria causes most food poisoning.
This condition is not always recognized for what it is. Many times
it is mistaken for and intestinal flu or the most common, intestinal
virus. These conditions are almost never the cause. There are approximately
10 organisms that are known to cause food poisoning. The symptoms
from these bacteria may persist from hours to weeks. If left untreated
food poisoning can cause death. Over 9,000 deaths occur each year
from all types of food poisoning.
Symptoms:
Nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, chills, fever, severe headache,
and muscle pain.
Holistic Treatment Plan:
Treating this condition with herbs is very effective. Limiting
your diet to cooked foods for the first few days helps to promote
recovery.
