Definition:
There are over 200 viruses that can cause the common cold or flu. These organisms
usually infect the upper respiratory tract, sinuses, throat, lungs,
and ears. We are constantly being exposed to these viruses, and
most of us experience the discomfort of a cold once or twice a year.
It is decreased resistance that allows us to be infected, not the
notion of being chilled, or overheated. Studies show that exposure
to wet or cold have little or nothing to do with contracting a cold.
It is the strength of the immune system that determines whether
we become ill or not.
Flu is the same problem. While many people suffer during the yearly
flu epidemic, many people do not get sick. With a strong immune
system you can avoid getting the flu or a severe cold.
Symptoms:
The symptoms include head congestion, sore throat, coughing, headache, fever,
muscle aches, restlessness, fever, sneezing, watery eyes, and with
the flu a general lousy feeling.
Holistic Treatment Plan:
Americans spend over $1 billion dollars every year on nonprescription
treatment for colds and flu. Usually at best these products only
bring temporary relief. My protocol combines herbs and nutrients
that will greatly help alleviate the symptoms of colds or flu. The
key to success is frequent application of the nutrients and herbs.
