Definition:
Localized inflammation of the bronchial tree. This is generally caused by an
infection. It may be acute or in some cases chronic. The acute form
bronchitis is caused by an infectious agent either a virus, mycoplasm,
or bacteria. However, in some cases the organism can be either mold
or fungi. The chronic form may lead to gradual deterioration of
the bronchial tissue, this condition is commonly found with people
who are exposed to an environmental agent like cigarette smoke or
other noxious fumes, rather than from infection. Allergies may also
cause chronic bronchitis.
Symptoms:
Chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden chills and shaking. Fever may accompany
these symptoms.
Holistic Treatment Plan:
For the infectious bronchitis nutrients that help rid the body
of the infectious agent are used, usually with great success. Chronic
bronchitis requires a little more intervention. It requires isolating
the agent and trying to avoid it, or to build some sort of immunity
to it.
Inhaling the vapors of eucalyptus or menthol helps to relieve congestion
Drink plenty of liquids, add moisture to the air if it to dry
If possible take hot baths with either eucalyptus or menthol added
to the water stay in tub for no more than 15 minutes
