Definition:
The adrenal glands are responsible for maintaining the balance
of many bodily functions by producing several important hormones.
These hormones affect the nervous system, glucose metabolism mineral
balance, blood pressure, and sexual function in both men and women.
Exhausted adrenal glands cannot function properly. This can produce
a multitude of symptoms. This condition is known as adrenal hypofunction.
It is characterized by increased fatigue and muscle weakness. Frequently
hypoglycemia complicates this condition.
Symptoms:
Sugar or chronic salt cravings are common to this disorder. Another
common symptom is extreme fatigue upon rising. Another symptom is
becoming more energetic at night. Women with this problem have extremely
difficult menstrual cycles with lots of severe PMS.
Holistic Treatment Plan:
Nutritional therapy works very well for this condition. It involves
removing refined carbohydrates like sugars and white flour from
the diet. Regular eating helps. Eating more protein and avoiding
